Weasel Words -
(Weasel Words
Site)
Don Watson, the creator of the Weasel
Words dictionary has this wonderful site which now features MBA
Rag as its theme song.
Damian
Carr - (Damian's
Site)
Damian
plays lead guitar on the Willie Dixon song "I Don't Trust
Nobody When It Comes To My Girl". This was Damian's first
excursion into the blues genre but going from Peter Gelling's
enthusiastic response to his playing, we will be hearing more
from him. He is currently working on his own CD of all-original
instrumental tunes completely different from Tinfish George's
work, and very exciting stuff. This clever guy also did all the
design and artwork for "Try Before You Die" and the
Meehan/Landy/Gelling CD: "My Sister's Shoes"
Peter Gelling - (Bent Notes)
Peter has been known to tinker with the
guitar, harmonica, piano, sax and a number of other
instruments. His album "Bluestime" was nominated for an Aria
award for best blues album. He's rather good.
Stephan Richter - (Akoustic
Odyssey)
As well as being a superb cellist and
fretless bass player, I think it's safe to say that Stephan is
also Australia's best Swiss didgeridoo player.
Craig Lauritsen - (Craig's MySpace
Page)
As a drummer/percussionist, Craig's job is
to hit things in a timely fashion, and he does it brilliantly.
Craig has played on countless albums (two of them nominated for
Aria awards), has written several instructional books on
percussion and is in high demand in the Adelaide music scene.
He also makes cymbals.
Geoff Bridgland - (Bluegrass
Junction)
Geoff Bridgland played the 5 string Banjo
on the iconic "Plastic Jesus" track on the album. Geoff and
Mandolinist brother John, play with 3 times Australian
Bluegrass Banjo Champion, Trev Warner, versatile double bass
player James Sked (who by the way, is a respected jazz
musician) and bluegrass guitarist, Nick Cawthorne in the
bluegrass band, Bluegrass Junction.
Lyndon Gray - (The Audreys)
Lyndon Gray played acoustic bass on the
CD. Lyndon is a member of The Audreys - enough said!
Cat Johns - (Temple
Tigers)
Cat Johns did most of the backing harmony
vocals on the CD. As well as having the voice of an angel, Cat
is an accomplished sound engineer and with her partner Chris
Lau have their own band, Temple Tigers, playing original
songs.
John Munro - (Colcannon)
John Munro plays mandolin on the CD. John
and Tinfish played their first professional gig together as a
duo in the mid sixties. John is well-known for his work with
Eric Bogle (www.ericbogle.net) as well as
being a driving force behind the Celtic band Colcannon. John
recently released his first solo CD: "Plying
My Trade" which is available through Greentrax
Kate Meehan & Skip Landy - (Kate
& Skip on Reverb Nation)
Kate Meehan and Skip Landy are an
established blues duo and they both contributed to the CD.
Watch out for their forthcoming CD: "In My Sister's
Shoes".
